Jessica Chastain officially in talks for IT: Chapter 2

Nice! Well, it looks like after months of speculation Jessica Chastain has officially entered negotiations to star as adult Beverly Marsh in her MAMA director Andry Muschietti's follow-up to STEPHEN KING'S IT. While Chastain has long been the fan favorite to take over the role of the little redhead that could in IT: CHAPTER 2, today Variety reports that official talks have begun so hopefully it will not be long before we know for sure if Chastain will snag the much sought-after role. 

And speaking of the sequel, it was just yesterday that we let you guys know that there is a rumor floating around that IT: CHAPTER 2 will begin filming this summer and not only does Variety reiterate this rumor in their article, but the fact that casting is now officially underway makes the rumor seem more and more likely every day. IT synopsis:

A group of young kids faces their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

IT is directed by Andrés Muschietti from a script by Chase Palmer & Cary Joji Fukunaga and Gray Dauberman, based on the novel by Stephen King. The film stars Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, Nicholas Hamilton, Owen Teague, Javier Botet, Steven Williams, and Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

IT: Chapter 2 hits theaters September 6th, 2019
