John Carpenter has begun scoring Blumhouse’s Halloween

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Like many of you guys out there, I was a bit apprehensive about a new entry in the HALLOWEEN series when it was first announced last year. But I quickly warmed up to the idea once it was announced that Mr. John Carpenter was going to be a part of the creative process this time around, not only executive producing the movie but scoring it as well.

And speaking of Carpenter returning to the fold to score this new HALLOWEEN, today we got as much confirmation as we ever could have hoped for via the master of horror himself over on Twitter. Today he posted a picture of a black cat (good luck) saying that he is now officially scoring Blumhouse’s upcoming HALLOWEEN film.

You can check out his tweet below.

For those who might not know, Carpenter not only scored the original HALLOWEEN, but many of his other films, such as ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, THE FOG, CHRISTINE, THEY LIVE, and many more. Basically, the man has scored every film he’s ever directed.

The man is a master of not only horror but the synth as well, so I’m excited as hell to know he’s back behind the keyboard and getting to work scoring Blumhouse’s upcoming direct sequel to his original classic. Hopefully, we’ll be hearing a sample or two of his new score soon, so keep checking back and we’ll keep you updated!
