John Carpenter’s Halloween 4K Blu-ray coming soon

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As Halloween draws nearer we have a lot to look forward to and one of the top things is Blumhouse's upcoming direct sequel to John Carpenter's original slasher masterpiece HALLOWEEN. And today we have word that Carpenter's original film will be hitting Blu-ray again in the near future with an all-new 4K transfer!

The word comes to us from Diabolik who even has the disc available for pre-order, even though the site doesn't seem to have any idea on just when the release date will be upon us. That said, the release is also listed for pre-order over on Barnes & Noble where they claim the release date is October 2, 2018.

All the same, you can check out the sites here and here and pre-order your copy of John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN on 4K Blu-ray today. The classic film begins:

On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael Myers steals a car and escapes Smith's Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he looks for his next victims.

It was directed by John Carpenter from a screenplay he co-wrote along with producer Debra Hill. The prototype slasher film starred Jamie Lee Curtis, P.J. Soles, Nancy Loomis, and Donald Pleasence. I'm excited to finally own one of my favorite films on 4K Blu-ray. How about you? Let us know below!
