If you follow our site daily then you're no doubt fully aware that our fearless leader, John Fallon aka 'The Arrow, recently completed post-production on his feature length directorial debut with THE SHELTER, a psychological thriller that stars Michael Paré, and Fallon has been busying himself to find this original horror film a home as he explores the world of sales/distribution. Now we've learned that THE SHELTER (which is seeking worldwide distribution via its Sales Agent DC MEDIAS) will be screening at the Cannes Film Festival in May of 2015 as part of the film market!

This is exciting news, not only for fans of Fallon and this site, but also for fans of original horror in general. THE SHELTER was made very much in the spirit of the haunting, dramatic horror shows of the 70s, a time when no one uttered the phrases “found footage” or “reboot”, and should drum up a lot of interest from buyers at Cannes.

Fallon himself shared his thoughts:

“It was a must that The Shelter have a presence at this year’s Cannes. We’re hoping that by the time the Festival/Market ends, The Shelter will have found a home around the world and that everybody will finally get to see it.”

Stay tuned for screening date/time/cinema info and you can expect a full trailer for the picture to go wide in April of 2015. Till then, you can watch the TEASER HEREAlong with the announcement that THE SHELTER was headed to Cannes, we have another look at Paré in the film via a new still below.

Paré, Gayle James, Rachel Whittle, Lauren Thomas and Amy Wickenheiser star in THE SHELTER, which goes like this:

On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas (Michael Paré) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. He strolls on in thinking he just caught a lucky break and for a while, it would appear as though he did. Inside, with nobody in sight, he finds all of the comforts that he used to have. After taking a bath, feasting wholeheartedly on some food and relishing the silliness on the tube, he gets some well-earned shut eye. All is well until a restless Thomas wakes up in a panic and finds a loaded revolver resting on his lap. Baffled, he picks up the weapon, checks the barrel and notes that it is fully loaded. A visceral sense of unease invades him immediately. Something is very wrong and he decides that it is time to leave. Alas he finds out swiftly that the premises won’t let him depart so quickly. The doors are all locked, and the windows puzzlingly cannot be opened or broken. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place. Will he survive the ordeal?
