Jorge Michel Grau’s Hitchcockian thriller Big Sky adds three leads

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Jorge Michel Grau, who directed the original WE ARE WHAT WE ARE (subsequently remade by Jim Mickle) is currently at work on the English-language thriller BIG SKY, which has been described as a “neo-Hitchcockian thriller”. The film is set to get underway this week in New Mexico, and the film’s three leads have been announced.

First, the plot:

BIG SKY follows a mother and daughter who, on their way to a desert facility to help the teen deal with her paralyzing agoraphobia, find themselves attacked by a gunman. The girl has to fight her own demons for the duo to survive.

Kyra Sedgwick will play the mother, while Bella Thorne (apparently a Disney channel regular; pictured right) will portray the daughter who must find the will to survive the unexpected horror. Frank Grillo (THE GREY, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER) will be the male lead, although it’s unclear at the moment if he’s the villain.

Manis Film is producing alongside Killer Films, TBD Syndicate and Benaroya Pictures.
