Joseph Gordon-Levitt wants some answers in the first clip from The Dark Knight Rises

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

As we’re counting down the days until THE DARK KNIGHT RISES hits theaters, you can bet your ass the hype machine won’t be slowing down in the meantime. First the soundtrack, then another poster and now, finally, the first ever clip from the movie has been released, giving us a glimpse at a scene involving Gary Oldman’s Commissioner Gordon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s John Blake. Check it out below.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

TDKR concludes Christopher Nolan’s trilogy on July 20th, with a cast including Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Josh Stewart, Matthew Modine and Juno Temple.
