Are you a fan of Stephen King? Of course you are! So have you had a chance to check out his latest novel yet? It's called UNDER THE DOME and apparently it's pretty damn good!

People are calling it a 'return to form' for King and there are already plans to turn DOME into it's own TV series. Good news right? Great news! Variety just dropped word that none other than Steven Spielberg is jumping on board the project! Spielberg is producing along with King and Stacey Snider with plans being to have DreamWorks TV bring this one to life. Writers are currently being looked at for the project.

The novel follows the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters. After a writer is signed and delivered the plan is to look for some prospective buyers for the project. I have a feeling they won't have a problem with that.

That's all we've got so far for King's UNDER THE DOME but as always we'll be keeping a close eye on this one! Be sure to check back for updates.

Extra Tidbit: Spielberg has actually had the option for King's THE TALISMAN for over 20 years.

I say to Spielberg

"Finish that "The Talisman" still on your plate and then you can have some "Dome" for desert. Oh, a King wrote a draft of this BEFORE the Simpsons was even conceived. Check out King’s Bio “Art of Darkness” by Douglas Winter. Published in 1984. Then the story was called “The Cannibals”

Elder, its nothing like The Simpsons AT ALL. King started writing it in the 70s but didn't know what to do with it. Then he finally bucked up and wrote the bastard. Its fucking excellent. His best since Bag of Bones.

um...yeah.

because in the king book, someone put pig shit in the lake and that's why the dome came down. *sigh*

anyway, 500 pages in and it really is the best thing by him i've read since, well, a LONG time. it's vintage king, funny, crazy and enjoyable. was just thinking last night about who would make a movie, and here we are.

Ummmm.....

This is the plot from "The Simpson's" movie. Just a force field instead of a glass dome.
