Knights of Badassdom picked up by Eone

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We've got some good news for you guys! It appears we won't be waiting much longer to check out Joe Lynch's KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM as Entertainment One has acquired North American distribution rights to the long-in-the-can film, says Deadline. The indie fantasy comedy revolves around a group of live-action role players who mistakenly conjure up a demon from Hell and must deal with the consequences. Now the big question is whether or not we'll be getting Joe Lynch's cut of the film or a butchered version instead. Time will tell folks!

In this humorous fantasy adventure from IndieVest Pictures, Joe (Ryan Kwanten) is a heavy metal rocker who’s just gone through a painful breakup with his girlfriend, Beth (Margarita Levieva). His concerned roommates (Steve Zahn, Peter Dinklage) kidnap him to their LARP (Live Action Role Playing) gathering, where he enters a realm of fantasy escapism in which pretend knights, elves, and barbarians clash with foam weaponry on a mock battlefield. When Joe’s “sorcerer” roommate (Zahn) inadvertently summons a deadly succubus that takes Beth’s seductive form, bloody reality crashes down upon their fantasy world. Once LARPers start to turn up dead, the make-believe wizards and warriors must become the real life heroes they have been pretending to be in order to conquer the evil that has been unleashed.

KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM stars Peter Dinklage, Ryan Kwanten, Steve Zahn and Summer Glau. There's still no release date set, but a US VOD and theatrical release is planned. We'll keep you guys up to date on this one once the official release dates come in.
