Kurt Russell horror western Bone Tomahawk lands distribution deal

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

Image Entertainment has become RLJ Entertainment, and the first acquisition made under the RLJ brand is writer/director S. Craig Zahler's horror Western BONE TOMAHAWK. RLJ will distribute the film throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, Lili Simmons, and Richard Jenkins, the film has the following synopsis:

When a group of cannibal savages kidnaps settlers from the small town of Bright Hope, an unlikely team of gunslingers, led by Sheriff Franklin Hunt (Russell), sets out to bring them home. But their enemy is more ruthless than anyone could have imagined, putting their mission – and survival itself – in serious jeopardy.

Although a release date hasn't been announced yet, I'm really glad to be hearing distribution news for this one. BONE TOMAHAWK is a film I've been looking forward to ever since it was first announced; the fact that it blends the horror and Western genres is something that catches my attention immediately, and the stars give my anticipation level a substantial boost. I'm hyped to check this movie out as soon as possible.
