Last Witch Hunter update: Vin Diesel and Breck Eisner ready to roll?

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Has been a little while since we reported anything regarding THE LAST WITCH HUNTER, which is a project that seemingly won’t die. Our last article about it, as far as I can tell, came in September of last year, when Vin Diesel’s name came up in conjunction with the Breck Eisner-helmed horror-action flick. Today doesn’t give us much in the way of new information, but we now know that the project could very well be moving forward.

According to Deadline.com, Eisner (THE CRAZIES) is still on board to direct, while Diesel is in “early talks” to star. Not sure if I’d call those talks “early” considering his name has been in play for five months, but we’ll take it as a good sign that he’s still attached.

Summit Entertainment and Emmett/Furla Films are co-producing the film; the former will eventually distribute.

The synopsis for THE LAST WITCH HUNTER:

The protagonist is an immortal witch hunter, part of a breed that keeps the population of witches and warlocks in check. He’s forced to partner with his natural enemy, a female witch, to stop the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague on humanity.

Vin’s current FAST & FURIOUS co-star, Elsa Pataky
