Latest image from Evil Dead gets to the point

Earlier this morning we got a nice new batch of images from Fede Alvarez’s EVIL DEAD, but we’re not stopping there. Empire has revealed an even newer still from the remake, which you can see above. Obviously, things aren’t going well for the heroine pictured, as someone (or, more likely, something) is trying to slice her up with what looks to be a large knife or perhaps a machete. Whatever it is, it’s sharp and means to do harm.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

Produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures, EVIL DEAD stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Elizabeth Blackmore and Jessica Lucas. It opens in the US on April 5th and in the UK on April 19th.
