Open 24 Hours Padraig Reynolds Vanessa Grasse

Writer/director Padraig Reynolds has a project making the festival rounds that sounds very interesting to me. Starring Vanessa Grasse, who recently crossed paths with an early version of horror icon Leatherface in the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel titled LEATHERFACE, this film is called OPEN 24 HOURS and draws inspiration from both HIGH TENSION and the anthology film BODY BAGS. Specifically, Reynolds was inspired by the BODY BAGS segment The Gas Station, which was directed by John Carpenter.

OPEN 24 HOURS tells the following story:

A paranoid delusional woman, Mary White, has just been released from a mental hospital for setting her serial killer boyfriend on fire. Her boyfriend, James Lincoln Fields is brutal serial killer known as The Rain Ripper. After being released from the Hospital, Mary’s vulnerable demeanor aids her in obtaining employment at an all-night gas station. However, left alone to her own devices, her paranoia and hallucinations return with furious consequences.

Grasse is joined in the cast by Cole Vigue, Emily Tennant, Selina Giles, Daniel O'Meara, and genre regular Brendan Fletcher – who dealt with horror icons himself in FREDDY VS. JASON.

Having made its world premiere at FrightFest back in August, OPEN 24 HOURS has played at several festivals since, and I'm eagerly awaiting news on when we'll get a chance to see it outside of a festival.

A trailer for the film can be seen below, along with some promotional art.
