It's been almost a year since we last heard about the remake of Roger Corman's 1959 classic ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES (check out the original announcement HERE), and today it looks like there's a few new updates to report on the flick - mainly, a few new images - and most importantly - the film's poster!
From director Brett Kelly (MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND), the LEECHES remake doesn't look like it's pushing the bar or updating the film from the cheap and cheesy monster fest it was almost 50 years ago. Nope, it looks like it's a cheap and cheesy monster fest from 2008, and honestly... I think the 50s version had just a little more class and style than this updated version (the original looking better than the remake? Now there's a new concept...).
Of course, therer's no trailer or clips from the film to base this opinion on - just the new images and the horrid poster (see that one below). While I appreciate the pic above featuring chicks in bikinis (always nice), it doesn't mean it doesn't look cheap... actually, it looks like a screenshot from a low-budget porno more than anything else.
But this doesn't mean the project's totally doomed. While we wait for the first glimpse at the trailer, check out the film's OFFICIAL SITE for one more pic and a bit more information, as well as Brett Kelly Entertainment's OFFICIAL SITE on this and other upcoming projects.
