Logan takes Passage

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

It’s no secret vampire flicks are the craze right now in Hollywood. They have been for over a year. There’s no telling when the fanged ones will wear their welcome out… or if they have already… but when I hear about a vampire flick heading our way from writer John Logan with the great Ridley Scott possibly set to direct… you can bet your ass I’m interested!

I’m talking about a flick called THE PASSAGE, which is actually based on the 1,200 page novel by Justin Cronin. Variety dropped word today that a seven-figure deal has secured Logan the chance to adapt the novel for Fox 2000.

THE PASSAGE is the first in a three part series. Here’s it’s synopsis: In the novel, terminally ill patients become healthy after they are bitten by bats in South America, and the government conducts secret tests on human subjects to see if the virus can cure illness. The result is an apocalyptic unleashing of bloodthirsty vampire test subjects that include death row inmates.

What do you think? I’m thinking THE PASSAGE has the potential to be something amazing. Maybe I’m just getting my hopes up for a truly awesome vampire movie… but if anyone can do it Logan and Scott can! Right? Hopefully we’ll hear more on THE PASSAGE soon, like if Scott officially signs on. In the meantime be sure to keep it here for updates as we hear them!
