Long-awaited Halloween slasher Hellfest finally has a release date

Hellfest Halloween Gregory Plotkin Gale Anne Hurd

HELLFEST has sure had a hell of a time reaching the big screen. We first wrote about the Halloween slasher back in July of 2011, when it was announced Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) would be producing the film. Since then, the film has gone through numerous directors, including Neil Marshall and Jennifer Lynch. It was only earlier this year that it gained its first serious momentum when it added Gregory Plotkin (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION) to the director's chair. Evidently, everything is all set to go, because the film just received an official release date.

OCTOBER 12, 2018, of course a very Halloween-friendly date, is when we can expect to see HELLFEST stalking theaters across the country.

The concept is a killer one, something that sounds very simple and very old school:

The film is set on Halloween night at a horror theme park where a costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe that it's all part of the show.

That is something I want to see, and barring any further delays it looks like we'll all get a chance to see it next October.

Newcomers (at the time of the 2011 sale) William Penick and Chris Sey wrote the screenplay, with Gary Dauberman (ANNABELLE, IT), Stephen Susco (THE GRUDGE) and Seth M. Sherwood (LEATHERFACE) all doing polishes.

Extra Tidbit: This has got to be better than PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION, right?
