Last week I hit you with the early news that 1981's THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY would hit special edition Blu-ray and DVD on September 27 via Blue Underground. The cover art for the release is below. The new HD transfer comes from the original, uncut negative. At the time, we didn't know about special features, but they have now been revealed:

- A Haunted House Story: interviews with co-writers Dardano Sacchetti and Elisa Briganti (*Blu-ray only)
- To Build a Better Death Trap: interviews with cinematographer Sergio Salvati, makeup effects artists Giannetto De Rossi and Maurizio Trani, special effects artist Gino De Rossi and actor Giovanni De Nava (*Blu-ray only)

- Meet the Boyles: interviews with actors Catriona MacColl and Paolo Malco
- Children of the Night: interviews with stars Giovanni Frezza and Silvia Collatina
- Tales of Laura Gittleson: interview with actress Dagmar Lassander
- My Time With Terror: interview with actor Carlo De Mejo
- Deleted scene
- Theatrical trailers
- TV spot
- Poster and still gallery

The Italian film is directed by Lucio Fulci (ZOMBIE), who co-wrote the script with his THE BEYOND collaborators Giorgio Mariuzzo and Dardano Sacchett. Catriona MacColl (CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD), Paolo Malco (THE NEW YORK RIPPER), Ania Pieroni (TENEBRE), Carlo De Mejo (CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD) and Dagmar Lassander (HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON) star.

A young family moves from their cramped New York City apartment to a spacious new home in New England. But this is no ordinary house in the country: the previous owner was the deranged Dr. Freudstein, whose monstrous human experiments have left a legacy of bloody mayhem. Now, someone - or something - is alive in the basement, and home sweet home is about to become a horrific hell on earth.

Extra Tidbit: The look of Dr. Satan in Rob Zombie's HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES was influenced by that of Dr. Freudstein in this film.

It sounds great,

I thought this Blu-ray would have the same (although) special features from the original Anchor Bay DVD.

For a slightly above average horror movie, it sounds like, it has great special features. But i hope, this Blu-ray will have the original Italian Dub. English dubbed was decent but the Bob character (The boy) in the movie, his voice made the picture unintentionally funny.
