Lucky McKee's The Woman will invade your home in January

11.11.2011by: Eric Walkuski

I had issues with Lucky McKee's disturbed horror-dark comedy THE WOMAN (and yes, I truly believe that a lot of it is meant to be funny, albeit in a really grotesque way), but I still think it's a flick horror fans should experience for themselves. Love it or hate it (or fall somewhere in between, like myself), it's one that gets you talking. Always a good thing these days, which are filled with such forgettable junk.

It got a very limited theatrical release this past October, and now it's on its way home for dessert: THE WOMAN will hit DVD on JANUARY 24th. Unfortunately, no specs are available, but the UK edition (which is already out) has a making-of, deleted scenes, a "meet the makers" featurette, and more.

The Woman is the last surviving member of a violent clan--alone and severely wounded. Unfortunately, she is now a far too easy prey for local hunter, successful country lawyer and seriously disturbed family man Christopher Cleek. With his twisted set of ideals, Cleek decides to embark on a deranged project - to capture and "civilize" The Woman--a decision that will threaten the lives of everyone.

THE WOMAN stars Pollyanna McIntosh, Sean Bridgers, Carlee Baker and Angela Bettis. You can pre-order the lovely lady right HERE.
