Magnet acquires Hobo with a Shotgun! Release coming next year

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Magnet Releasing has proven they’re not afraid to acquire those flicks we want to see that the other distributors won’t take a chance on, so it makes sense that they’d be the ones to pick up Jason Eisener’s insane-looking HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. The film already had everybody buzzing, and that was before it was accepted into Sundance, so now it’s very nice to know that we’ll definitely get a look at it come sometime next year. (No date has been announced yet, but it’ll most likely come out on Video OnDemand first, followed by a limited theatrical .)

“Pure blood-drunk, bat-shit-crazy fun,” said Magnet exec Tom Quinn. “Both Jason Eisener and Rutger Hauer were born to make Hobo.”

Well, I’m not so sure Hauer would be entirely thrilled with that statement, but what the f*ck?! Maybe this is the performance of his career and the reason he was put on the Earth!

Eisener followed up Quinn’s statement with this: “May god have mercy on Magnet for having the bravery to unleash the madness that is Hobo With a Shotgun. We’re taking a car ride to hell with this film and I can’t think of a better team to be riding shotgun.”

HOBO premieres in Midnight section of the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 21. Now let’s take in another viewing of that beautiful trailer, shall we?
