Margot Robbie in negotiations to play Sharon Tate for Quentin Tarantino

Margot Robbie Wolf of Wall Street

This is no surprise at all, given that Deadline heard way back in July that writer/director Quentin Tarantino had met with Margot Robbie about playing Sharon Tate in his new film (which we now know is called ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD), but it's good to see that their collaboration might actually happen: the role has officially been offered to Robbie, and she is currently negotiating the deal. Chances are that deal will soon be closed, so we can start looking forward to seeing Robbie as Tate in the film without much hesitation.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are already confirmed to be starring in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, which

takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor… Sharon Tate."

Stuntwoman/actress Zoe Bell, who has been involved with all of Tarantino's projects since KILL BILL, has said that she will be working on the film in some capacity.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD is scheduled to be released on August 9, 2019, the 50th anniversary of Tate's murder by members of the Manson family.
