The upcoming sci-fi thriller from writer-director Mark Elijah Rosenberg, APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN, is a rare lead role for genre stalwart Mark Strong (KINGSMAN, SHERLOCK HOLMES, KICK-ASS, ROCKNROLLA). Hopefully it will be able to erase the damage done by appearing in the box office napalm THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY.
Paramount Home Media Distribution and Vertical Entertainment will give the film a day and date release on June 3rd, which is a pretty snug summer date for a flick like this.
Strong will play:
William D. Stanaforth, sent on a one way solo mission as part of humanity’s first steps toward colonizing Mars. Watched by the entire world, he is completely alone, and when the trip takes a toll on the ship’s life support systems, he is forced to make impossible choices that threaten his sanity, mission and very existence.
APPROACHING THE UNKNOWN also stars Sanaa Lathan (BLADE, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR) and Charles Baker (SPLINTER, THE NEON DEMON).
