Marwan Kenzari joins The Mummy reboot with Tom Cruise

Universal's reboot of THE MUMMY will be premiering in just over a year, so it's about time they wrapped up production, in every sense of the word. In their latest bout of casting, Dutch actor Marwan Kenzari has joined the Tom Cruise-led project.

Kenzari is best known for his role in LOFT, the Dutch-language film that received an American remake in 2014 starring Karl Urban and James Marsden. However, his breakthrough into the States will begin with his role in Terry George's THE PROMISE, starring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac, as well as his appearance in Timur Bekmambetov's BEN-HUR remake.

The cast already includes Jake Johnson as member of the military, KINGSMAN's Sofia Boutella playing the titular character, and ANNABELLE's Annabelle Wallis, who is playing a scientist.

Unwrap THE MUMMY on June 9, 2017. Alex Kurtzman is directing and producing the film, which is part of Universal's massive plan to creature a shared universe with their "Classic Monsters" characters. PROMETHEUS co-writer Jon Spaihts is tapping out the script.
