Men in Black 4 is definitely happening, says Columbia Pictures chief

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It certainly seemed before the release of MEN IN BLACK 3 that the franchise was on its last legs. The production troubles were already legendary, and the movie itself was so-so at best. Most film series really start to show their age by the third installment, and MIB 3 was a prime example.

But then something interesting happened: It made f*cking $615 million worldwide. Even if the budget was around $200 million (which it probably was, and then some), when you factor in the eventual DVD/Blu-ray sales, this movie will definitely be quite profitable. A stark turnaround from early May, when it looked all but destined to disappoint… So you know what that means: I’ll have another!

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures studio chief Douglas Belgrad said the following:

“We’re very pleased with the financial performance of Men in Black 3, and we believe it is an ongoing franchise. We’re going to do [another one], but we don’t have clarity yet on how it should be done.”

Here’s a piece of advice: FINISH THE SCREENPLAY BEFORE YOU START FILMING!!!

Oh, and invite Alice Eve (pictured below) back. She’s purty.
