Michael Fassbender would be up for playing ‘Robocop’ if the script clicks

Not to long ago I told you all how if director José Padilha had his way the talented Michael Fassbender would be starring in his upcoming ROBOCOP reboot. Now personally when Darren Aronofsky left the project my interest in the thing dwindled dramatically. But if Fassbender was to sign on… well let’s just say I’d be intrigued once again.

Fresh off Padilha’s confession the guys over at Collider recently had a chance to chat it up with Fassbender (right). Now while the conversation basically kept to Fassbender’s upcoming films the topic did switch over to ROBOCOP for a quick second.

“You know, I’m always open. I’ll take a look at the script and sit down with the director and have a conversation. It’s not definitely like, “Oh, I’ve got to play RoboCop before I retire.” I don’t have that about anything. I don’t go, “I have to play the Dane one day, or Hamlet.” I don’t really think like that. I just wait and see what comes up, and I’m always open to it. If I react to the script, then I’m up for anything.”

And in regards to whether or not he’d have a problem wearing a metal suit:

“No. It could be kind of fun. It could be kind of good to have a helmet that I could hide behind, for most of the film, too. That sounds kind of appealing.”

Ah the constant professional. So Fassbender doesn’t really divulge much. At this point all we can really do is hope the script kicks all kinds of ass! As soon as any other news on this ROBOCOP revamp comes our way you can bet we’ll pass that shite right along to all of you.
