Michael Keaton attends a meeting regarding Beetlejuice 2?!

Exactly one month ago I was sitting right here telling you all how Tim Burton was talking about the potential BEETLEJUICE sequel and now here I am with news on a couple other names talking about the project: Seth Grahame-Smith and Michael Keaton! That’s right folks! Beetlejuice himself!

The guys over at ShockTillYouDrop had a chance to chat with scribe Seth Grahame-Smith recently about his upcoming film ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. When asked about BEETLEJUICE 2 though, this was Smith’s response:

“It’s a reality in the sense that I met with Michael Keaton last week. We talked for a couple of hours and talked about big picture stuff. It’s a priority for Warner Bros. It’s a priority for Tim. Right now, I am writing an animated movie for Tim based on an idea of mine. Then I adapt Unholy Night [based on the upcoming book]. The third I am hoping is Beetlejuice in terms of writing schedule.”

And when asked how exciited Keaton was about the project, Grahame-Smith added: “Huge. He’s been wanting to do it for 20 years and he’ll talk to anybody about it who will listen. I really told him, I have a huge reverence for Tim and a huge reverence for that film in general. I don’t think we should do it if we shit on the legacy. He agrees. So, right now, it remains to be seen, I have a couple of story ideas, but we’re very early out.”

So there you have it folks! Looks like everyone is pumped for this one, including this schmuck! Only problem is it looks like we’ll have a ways to wait until we see any movement on BEETLEJUICE 2 but you know what they say right? Good things come to those who wait! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE!
