Hey, remember yesterday when the story broke that KRAMPUS' Mike Dougherty and Zach Shields would be co-writing Legendary's GODZILLA 2? Remember when I said it would be awesome if they let Dougherty slide on into that director's chair? Well it turns out, somebody up top agrees with me.
The director of the upcoming film hasn't been officially announced, but Dougherty has been confirmed to be in talks to helm the project. If this deal closes, this would be by far the biggest flick he's ever directed, and it would certainly grant him more cachet than even his script work on several of the X-MEN films. I hope he's given this opportunity, because he's a tremendously clever director who hasn't yet been given a huge slice of the pie.
GODZILLA 2 is set to storm theaters on March 22, 2019, to be swiftly followed by GODZILLA VS. KONG on May 29, 2020.
