Monsters the Complete Series DVD pushed back one month

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

If you’re gnashing your teeth waiting for “Monsters the Complete Series” to hit DVD in all its 9-disc glory, you’re going to have to wait just a bit longer. Originally announced as having a release date of February 25th, the 80s horror anthology will now be hitting shelves on March 18th. Not a very long wait, but apparently the demand has been quite high, so everyone will just have to chill a little while longer.

I have a strange affection for this kooky series; even though it was incredibly hit or miss (actually, probably more miss than hit if we’re being honest), it was a constant joy to me in my younger years, so I’m personally looking forward to becoming reacquainted with these Monsters.

Across 72 episodes of this 9-disc collectors’ set, Emmy and Academy Award-winning make-up effects artist Dick Smith (The Exorcist, The Godfather, Amadeus) brings to life the monsters that nightmares are made of – from the gruesome and grotesque to mutations beyond your wildest dreams, MONSTERS’ horrifying creatures haunt each of the modern-day fables of fear and stories of unearthly terror that comprise the suspenseful cult-classic series. MONSTERS features adaptations by horror masters Stephen King and Robert Bloch and includes an enviable cast of guest stars, including Steve Buscemi (“Boardwalk Empire”), Lily Taylor (The Conjuring), Chris Noth (“Sex and the City”), Deborah Harry (Blondie) and many more!

Among the guest stars in the series: Lili Taylor, David Spade, Tony Shalhoub, Steve Buscemi, Gina Gershon, Linda Blair, Chris Noth, Jerry Stiller, Deborah Harry, Meatloaf, Morton Downey Jr., Adrienne Barbeau, Pam Grier, Ashley Laurence, Darren McGavin, and many more!
