More Crow reboot talk: 28 Weeks Later director & Wahlberg still possible?

02.14.2011by: Jared Pacheco

I don't care if it's got a chance to be the greatest movie ever made, one reboot I just can't get behind is THE CROW. I know they're trying, and I know some fans out there are alright with seeing where this one goes. But I'm not one of them. And I won't be. There's absolutely no way this reboot can top the original. Or even come close. And I'm not usually one of those 'remakes suck' kind of guys. So this is big for me.

With that being said, let's get into some CROW reboot news! Remember that whole Mark Wahlberg is in talks! Mark Wahlberg isn't in talks! he-said-she-said bullsh*t we went through a few months back? Well the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting have decided to rewind the clock a bit and stick with the whole 'Wahlberg is in talks!' deal. Now there is some sense to the madness considering Wahlberg has yet to deny he was offered, or rejected, the role. So I suppose there is a chance folks.

But that's not all B-D are selling! Apparently they were tipped off that 28 WEEKS LATER director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was taking meetings with Relativitly regarding the opening directing chair on THE CROW. Now mind you if there's even any truth to these rumblings he's just 'taking meetings.' Though how often have we seen this 'taking meetings' rumors turn out to be the real deal? More often than not I'd say so there's something to keep in mind...

Now that that's all out of the way let's just talk about what it boils down to. This thing has already been surrounded with a lot of names interested so if there was a chance I was going to keep an open mind about this one I'd say let's wait until we hear some solid news before jumping to conclusions. Then again my mind is anything but open in regards to this flick so screw it. I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more whispers regarding THE CROW in the near future so check back soon for those updates!

Extra Tidbit: Can you believe UFC fighter Tito Ortiz, Tara Reid, David Boreanaz, Edward Furlong, Emmanuelle Chriqui (above) and Danny Trejo were all in a CROW flick together?

With Wahlberg I can't see this ending up being anything other than another clusterfuck like Max Payne.

dont get me wrong...

i love the original Crow, but done right, And with Wahlberg on board, it could be very entertaining. They HAVE to stick with the R-Rated violence and not pussify it with a PG13.

Right on

I couldn't be more with you on this one Jared! The original with Brandon Lee was perfect in every way. I hope this one never gets off the ground.
