Never

Anyone who does it absolutely deserves to be thrown out. Nothing I hate more than being distracted by little blue screens throughout the theater during a movie.

I'm paying upwards of 8 dollars to see a movie, there is no reason I need to text. Phone is either off or on silent til I am back in the lobby.

Blasphemy

If you want to text, text. If you want to see a movie, see a movie. If you want to do both, stay at home. If you feel it is okay to distract me from watching a movie, I feel it is okay to distract you from texting by pegging you with ice from my soda.

Never! Texting during a movie is just rude. I may leave my phone on vibrate in the case of an emergency call, but even then I'd walk outside the theater than disrupt the viewing experience of others. At home, however...guilty as charged, but that's a totally different story.
