Musician St. Vincent to make her directorial debut in female anthology XX

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The upcoming horror anthology XX is set to showcase female directors and performers in the genre. The segments will be directed by directors as varied as Karyn Kusama (THE INVITATION), Jennifer Lynch (HISSS), and Jovanka Vuckovic (Rue Morgue Magazine).

However, a new director has been added to their ranks from a rather unexpected direction. Musician Annie Clark, who releases records under the same St. Vincent, will be making her directorial debut in XX with a segment produced by SOUTHBOUND's Roxanne Benjamin.

Said Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles:

I’ve long been a fan of Annie’s work. We’re excited to watch the singular vision she’ll bring to this project.

St. Vincent's music isn't for anyone, but if she can harness the pastel, Almodovar-esque visual spectrum she uses in her music videos, her segment will certainly be one to watch out for. Check out her video for "Digital Witness" below!
