Natalie Portman offers up an update on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

08.07.2010by: Jared Pacheco
It's no secret that there's an adaptation heading our way of Seth Grahame-Smith's genre novel PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES. It's also no secret that the gorgeous Natalie Portman is already signed on to star in the zombie film. What we don't know is what's going on with this project!

The last we heard this thing was gearing up to hit the small screen instead of the big screen, but that rumor was quickly shot down. So we're back to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES being a feature... Well that's awesome but we still don't know what's going on with the project! Thankfully we're not the only ones wondering what the deal is. The guys over at MTV recently chatted it up with Ms. Portman and luckily for us the talented actress talked a bit about the project:

"We just got a new draft from David O. Russell, who is adapting it and is going to direct it. I'm such a big fan of his. 'Flirting With Disaster' is one of my favorite movies, and 'Three Kings' and pretty much everything he does is incredible. We'll probably be shooting next year, hopefully. It's a really, I think, clever mash-up between genres. These women only obsessing over marriage is such a zombie kind of behavior. It's kind of a perfect collision of genres."

Nice! It's awesome to hear this thing is steadily moving forward. Now I don't know about you guys but it really doesn't matter what else I hear about this project... We've got a zombie flick heading our way starring Natalie Portman. Yeah, I'm completely sold.

What about you guys? You sold on this one already or are you holding off a bit? Hit us with your thoughts below and keep it here for more on PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES as we hear it!

Extra Tidbit: Natalie Portman (above) has been a pre-teen assassin, a bald terrorist, a STAR WARS character, a stripper and she has her own rap. Not too shabby.
