Netflix rescues another sci-fi film with Extinction starring Lizzy Caplan

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Two months ago, Universal pulled the upcoming sci-fi invasion flick EXTINCTION off its schedule and since then all of us here at AITH have been holding our breath to hear what the film's future held.

And today we have an answer as it seems like Netflix is coming to the sci-fi rescue again after picking up THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX recently. Yes, the new film directed by Ben Young (HOUNDS OF LOVE) and starring Michael Pena, Lizzy Caplan, and Emma Booth will be a Netflix original.

No release date or further info has been released at this time but we will make sure to let you guys know as soon as we hear anything further. That said, what do you think are the chances that Netflix releases the film as a CLOVERFIELD sequel called CLOVERFIELD: EXTINCTION? Haha?

EXTINCTION synopsis:

A father has a recurring dream of losing his family. His nightmare turns into reality when the planet is invaded by a force bent on destruction. Fighting for their lives, he comes to realize an unknown strength to keep them safe from harm.

The film is directed by Ben Young from a script by Eric Heisserer, Spenser Cohen, and Brad Kane. The film stars Michael Peña, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Colter, Lilly Aspell and Emma Booth.

EXTINCTION hits Netflix TBD (probably tonight).
