UPDATE! IGN just slapped up the new red-band trailer on their site; it's been embedded below.

We've been pretty on the fence regarding Marcus Nispel's upcoming CONAN THE BARBARIAN 3D. The previews have been consistently so-so, but perhaps our desire to like the film keeps us with our fingers crossed. Things might be looking up, however, as a new TV spot has emerged and it's easily the best case for the movie yet. It's a minute long and just gels better than the others have - although I still hate that they feel the need to use heavy metal music...

The film, which opens on AUGUST 19th, stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Sad Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman.

The plot: A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Extra Tidbit: Are you going to slay CONAN when it hits in August?

I've always felt that there was a serious lack of VIOLENT sword & sorcery flicks. As a casual Conan fan who just wants to see a kickass R-rated fantasy, I'm pumped.
Staying cautious though, since I remember being disappointed by how underwhelming Pathfinder turned out.

When a Barbarian fan feels thirst, it is a thirst for blood. The red-band definitely has the goods, and the film surely contains more goods. I'm in. Besides, R-rated genre works need our support.

Music

Well I am interested in seeing the movie...but yeah the music does not fit. I like metal but that is not metal. If they are going to use a contemporary music there are other bands better than that crap. But the movie looks cool.
