New Line’s Crawlspace adds Bates Motel star Michael Vartan

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The Phil Claydon-directed CRAWLSPACE has just found its male lead in "Bates Motel" star Michael Vartan, reports Deadline. Vartan will play a widower with a daughter who gets remarried and, after going through a rough patch of unemployment, gets the opportunity for a new start in a new house in the suburbs. Recently, we reported that Erin Moriarty, who just had her breakout role as Woody Harrelson's daughter in "True Detective", had landed the female lead in the thriller.

Principal photography is set to begin March 24, 2014 in Los Angeles.

CRAWLSPACE is about a family that moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. But what seems like a traditional supernatural thriller gets twisty when the rug is pulled from under both the family and the audience.

Vartan is currently playing the new romantic love interest to Vera Farmiga’s Norma in A&E’s "Bates Motel", which is currently airing in its second season.
