New on-set pic confirms Jurassic World 2 will feature animatronic dinosaurs

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We heard news a while back that JURASSIC WORLD 2 would be using more animatronic dinosaurs this time around. Well, today we have news that it looks like JURASSIC WORLD 2 director J. A. Bayona is following through with that promise as he took to Twitter and posted this cool update.

Look like these dude are about to start a fight club to me. Jurassic Fight Club… There's your next sequel right there…

Anyhow, I am excited about the idea of animatronics making there comeback in the new film as to this day the original JURASSIC PARK has some of the best dino-work we have ever seen. I mean the T-Rex attack sequence is one of the great show-stoppers of all time.

JURASSIC WORLD 2 director J. A. Bayona's original statement:

Obviously you don’t have real dinosaurs — sometimes you have people playing dinosaurs — but we love animatronics and we’re trying to do as much with them as possible.

It’s complicated because the audience now is so used to seeing CGI that they’re sometimes reluctant towards animatronics. But at the same time, I think animatronics bring soul and reality to it. We’re trying to find the balance between animatronics and CGI in order to cheat the audience so they don’t know what they’re seeing.

JURASSIC WORLD 2 stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, and Charlie Chaplin's daughter Geraldine Chaplin.

The flick stomps into theaters June 22, 2018.

Haha. T-rex looks like he has just been asked for yet another take.
