Some Urban Legends Are REAL!

Dun no about you, but I just shift my pants a little. (Just a little…) The tag line compared with this fantastically frightening poster for THE SHORTCUT makes this the must-see movie of 2009. Hell, maybe even 2010.

THE SHORTCUT is, you might remember (if you don’t, I won’t blame you), a horror offering from Adam Sander’s production company Happy Madison. (Or as it’s known this time, Scary Madison.) Adam’s brother, Scott, co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Shannon; GRANDMA’S BOY director Nicolas Goose helmed the flick, which goes something like this:

A shortcut through the woods saved a lot of time getting to school, but no kids growing up in a suburban neighborhood dared to take it. The trail ran within sight of a scary house with an eerie old man who would accost its travelers with an ominous message to stay away.

Town legend said he was involved in the disappearances of some kids long ago. Now that some of those same kids are in their late teens, they decide to find out the truth about the old man after they learn he’s still at his game.

The cast includes Shannon Marie Woodward, Katrina Bowden, Andrew Shelley, William B. Davis, and Raymond J. Barry. It hits DVD/Blu-Ray on SEPTEMBER 25th. Nibble on the trailer below:
