Longtime TV yeoman Nelson McCormick, who tried his directorial-hand with last years PROM NIGHT, is back with his new horror-thriller THE STEPFATHER.
The flick, a semi-remake of sorts, centers on a young man named Michael (Penn Badgley) returning to his quiet hometown after military school. Upon greeting his mother (Sela Ward), he realizes she’s settled into a new life of peach fuzz and roses with her new boyfriend (Dylan Walsh). As Michael slowly acquaints with his new happy-go-lucky patriarch, egos clash and he soon begins to learn that there is more than meets the eye.
Slated for an October 16th release, some new pics have been unearthed courtesy of the films official site. With a script by longtime horror scribe J.S. Cardone (THE SLAYER, SHADOWZONE), adapted from the original Donald E. Westlake screenplay, THE STEPFATHER also stars Amber Heard, Christopher Meloni, Sherry Stringfield, John Tenney, Jason Wiles, Paige Turco and Skyler Samuels.
