The Shelter Michael Pare John Fallon horror Arrow in the Head AITH

As you likely know, Arrow in the Head founder and head honcho John Fallon recently finished his directorial debut, THE SHELTER, starring Michael Pare. Our last update on the film came back in May, when we got a peek at the nifty teaser trailer for the thriller. Today we're happy to bring you a little update on where THE SHELTER stands, along with a few new stills!

As far as where the film currently is: Via his official site, Fallon reports:

THE SHELTER post production is advancing. Colorist Bobby Holbrook is finding the right tones, VFX house Null Effects are completing the varied VFX shots (and doing some great work at that), composer Shawn Knippelberg is discovering the proper vibe for the film (he’s getting there) while sound editor Colby Huval is giving the film an added potent layer via his sound work. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!  On that, I feel blessed to be working with so many talented people and I feel more and more confident about the film every day. The movie should be completed with Post by the end of  October.

Here's a refresher on the film's plot:

On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas (Michael Pare) finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. He strolls on in thinking he just caught a lucky break and for a while, it would appear as though he did. Inside, with nobody in sight, he finds all of the comforts that he used to have. After taking a bath, feasting wholeheartedly on some food and relishing the silliness on the tube, he gets some well-earned shut eye.

All is well until a restless Thomas wakes up in a panic and finds a loaded revolver resting on his lap. Baffled, he picks up the weapon, checks the barrel and notes that it is fully loaded. A visceral sense of unease invades him immediately. Something is very wrong and he decides that it is time to leave. Alas he finds out swiftly that the premises won’t let him depart so quickly. The doors are all locked, and the windows puzzlingly cannot be opened or broken. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place. Will he survive the ordeal?
