New teaser arrives for Black Wake, starring Eric Roberts and Tom Sizemore

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

When we debuted the teaser trailer for the sci-fi thriller BLACK WAKE last month, it was said that the filmmakers planned to release another trailer this month. And now here it is, right on time.

Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, even featuring a version of the Necronomicon, the film tells the following story:

Specialists gather in a top-secret facility to investigate a series of mysterious deaths on beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. When one scientist examines video evidence to uncover a possible parasitic explanation for the fatalities, she slowly learns that the actual threat may be more dangerous — and far older — than anyone ever imagined. Can she convince her colleagues of the true danger before an ancient force rises from the sea to bring madness and death to all of humanity?

Directed by Jeremiah Kipp and written by Jerry Janda, BLACK WAKE stars Nana Gouvea, Eric Roberts, Tom Sizemore, Rich Graff, Jonny Beauchamp, Jeremy Fernandez, Kelly Rae LeGault, and Kaylin Iannone.

The movie was only just filmed in July, so it's still getting the finishing touches put on it, and the quality of this second teaser is a step up from the first one. The low budget is still evident, but things are looking better and there are a couple instances of impressive production value on display. BLACK WAKE continues to hold my interest.
