Next Halloween hell comes knocking with Hellions, from Pontypool director Bruce McDonald

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Well, Halloween is officially over (cue the chorus of boo's) but we still have some Halloween-related treats for ya on this first of November as maverick indie director Bruce McDonald, who brought us the intriguing PONTYPOOL, has started principal photography this week on the Halloween horror thriller HELLIONS. Whizbang Films and Storyteller Pictures are producing from an original screenplay by Pascal Trottier (THE COLONY). So what can we expect? Here's the early synopsis:

The story follows a pregnant teen, played by Chloe Rose (Degrassi: The Next Generation), who must survive a Halloween night from Hell when three malevolent trick-or-treaters come knocking.

McDonald has been a busy fella lately, with his latest flick, THE HUSBAND, having recently premiered at this years Toronto International Film Festival, and we heard back in March that he was reteaming with his PONTYPOOL writer Tony Burgess for the upcoming serial killer-themed CASHTOWN CORNERS.

I'm interested in seeing more from McDonald and HELLIONS sounds like it could be a lotta fun. We can expect to hear some casting news in the coming weeks.
