Number 23 scribe penning American Werewolf in London remake?

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Do you guys know Fernley Phillips? That’s alright, most people don’t. The scribe’s only credit is 2007’s THE NUMBER 23, that noir thriller starring Jim Carrey. Regardless of Phillips’ thin resume it seems the writer may be in line to pen a remake of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON!

That’s right folks. According to The LA Times The Weinstein Company are moving forward with a remake of the classic werewolf tale and are looking to Phillips to get that shite on paper. Let’s take a step back and let that sink in… Don’t worry, I’m sure you’re not the only one feeling a little uneasy about this. Does AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON even need a remake? I think it’s safe to say the classic John Landis film still stands strong today… but hey, this is Hollywood we’re talking about so it was only a matter of time.

The original film centered on a U.S. tourist who believes he’s being hunted by a werewolf.

The film offered up the perfect mixture of comedy and horror and is easily one of, if not the, greatest werewolf flicks out there. So how do you feel about a remake heading our way? And Phillips behind the script? Hit us with your thoughts on this mess below and keep it here for more on this project as we hear it!
