Oscar nominated Marco Beltrami set to score zombie epic World War Z

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

It’s been awhile since seeing those rather uneventful set photos of Marc Forster’s epic zombie yarn WORLD WAR Z, so this bit of news comes a nice update. Hell, any news during this slow ass week comes as a nice update!

According to the Film Music Reporter, Academy Award nominated composer Marco Beltrami (seen right) has struck a deal to score WORLD WAR Z. This will mark the first collaboration between Forster and Beltrami, and hopefully one that will augment the film as a whole.

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane, who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Beltrami was previously nominated for his work on THE HURT LOCKER and 3:10 TO YUMA. He’s tallied over 75 credits since 1994, and this year alone, scored two of the biggest horror releases: THE THING and SCREAM 4. He also scored “The Sunset Limited”, “V” and SOUL SURFER in 2011. He also has THE WOMAN IN BLACK coming out in February. Dude’s quite the workhorse!
