You know him by the nom de plume The Arrow. But folks within the industry know him as John Fallon, actor, writer and soon-to-be director. I just call him Boss. While I've only been writing for this site for a couple of months now, I've been familiar with Fallon's work as a writer and actor for quite some time, so I'm writing this article objectively. As a cat who dabbles in film work myself, I've found that the indie film world is a small one indeed as I've met and known several people throughout the years who have worked with Fallon or worked on something he's written, and when his name came up in conversations it was always the same statement: "John's a talented dude."

I made my way over to John's offical blog (which you can peep right HERE) and saw that over the weekend he had shared the news that he is gearing up to step behind the camera to helm his directorial debut, THE SHELTER. About time, Boss!

I've got the promo poster (created by Paul Shirey) and the synopsis for the flick below, so peep that shite, yo!

On a star filled night, widower and homeless man Thomas finds shelter for the night when he falls upon a vast two story house with the lights on and an inviting open front door. He strolls on in thinking he just caught a lucky break and for a while, it would appear that he did. Inside, there’s nobody in sight and he finds all of the comforts that he used to have. After taking a bath, feasting whole heartily on some food and relishing the silliness on the tube, he gets some well earned shut eye. All is well until a restless Thomas wakes up in a panic and finds a loaded revolver resting on his lap. Baffled, he picks up the weapon, checks the barrel, it is fully loaded. A visceral sense of unease invades him immediately. Something is very wrong and he decides that it is time to leave. Alas he finds out swiftly that the premises won’t let him depart. The doors are all locked, and the windows puzzlingly cannot be opened or broken. Destiny has brought Thomas to this place. Will he survive the ordeal?

Hell yeah!

The film is presently in the development stage, with casting soon to be underway as well as finalizing the budget, location scouting and other production necessities being taken care of, but I'm hoping he gets it in front of cameras soon. There's no telling what kind of wickedness this cool sounding project will deliver!

One of the nicest and most talented guys I've been fortunate to hang with in the industry, Mr. Donny Broussard, will be producing this badboy for Bruise Productions, Inc., so the Boss will undoubtably have one hell of a great team to work with.

We'll keep ya posted on the status of THE SHELTER. I'm sure we're in for quite a ride with this one, folks!

Donny Broussard, The Arrow and a couple of their friends.

Extra Tidbit: Who's stoked to see The Arrow's directorial debut?

Extra tidbit: I am! Good for you, Arrow. Also, I love the grainy looks of the poster. Reminds me of old VHS horror movies' covers.
