Panic Attack short!

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

I actually saw this short about a week ago and didn’t think much of it, but now that apparently the director is being touted as the next Neill Blomkamp, I guess we should jump right on this dude’s bandwagon before it even really takes off.

The short is called PANIC ATTACK, and it’s basically about giant robots invading earth and blowing shit up. Of course, what more do you need right? The word is this thing cost about $300 to make – the rest is director Fede Alvarez and his ingenuity.

The Hollywood Reporter says Alvarez is in the States this week, taking meetings, meeting with agents, etc. Don’t be surprised if someone out there is going to attach the young man to a DISTRICT 9-type project. (It must be seriously said though that this is nowhere near as good as Blomkamp’s terrific “Alive in Joburg” short film.)

Anyway, check out the short, it’s only about 5 min. long – there are worse ways to waste your time. (Like reading my rambling, for instance.) Weigh in below with your thoughts on the mini-flick, and whether or not you think this fellow has a promising career ahead of him.
