Anonymous Content is producing a remake of the 2008 Belgian picture LOFT. The original film became the most attended movie in Belgian cinematic history, so it’s no surprise that we’re getting an Americanization. Variety reports that Patrick Wilson (HARD CANDY, INSIDIOUS, WATCHMEN) and James Marsden (THE BOX, X-MEN, STRAW DOGS) are in talks to star in the independent thriller. Here is the plot:

LOFT follows five married friends who decide to rent a loft together where they can bring their mistresses. When the body of an unknown woman is found in the loft, they realize that they don’t know each other as well as they thought and begin to suspect one another of murder.

Erik Van Looy, who directed the original, will return to helm the English-language version. Bart De Pauw’s script is adapted by Wesley Strick (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET). Production is expected to begin in the spring.
