Pet Sematary remake begins filming this May?

03.19.2018by: Mike Sprague

Back in December, we let you guys know that the upcoming remake of Stephen King's PET SEMATARY from directing-duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (STARRY EYES) had snagged a 2019 release date. And today we have word via Omega Underground that the film very well may begin shooting shoot in Toronto this May.

This is still merely a rumor at this point but all the same, I'm excited for this film to go before cameras ASAP. While I love the novel by Stephen King and find May Lambert's original film to be one of my favorite horror movies of all time, I still think there is yet another kick-ass version of the tale left to be told so I say bring it on!

How excited are you about Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch's remake of PET SEMATARY? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!

PET SEMATARY synopsis:

Doctor Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff) moves his family to Maine, where he meets a friendly local named Jud Crandall (Fred Gwynne). After the Creeds' cat is accidentally killed, Crandall advises Louis to bury it in the ground near the old pet cemetery. The cat returns to life, its personality changed for the worse. When Louis' son, Gage (Miko Hughes), dies tragically, Louis decides to bury the boy's body in the same ground despite the warnings of Crandall and Louis' visions of a deceased patient.

PET SEMATARY hits us like an Orinoco truck blaring The Ramones on April 19, 2019.
