Pierce Brosnan joins Owen Wilson in John Erick Dowdle’s The Coup

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Last week we learned that DEVIL director John Erick Dowdle’s latest film, THE COUP, had cast in Owen Wilson for the lead role. Now another big name comes up in regards to the action-thriller: Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan.

THE COUP breaks down like this:

In their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape while rebels mercilessly attack the city.

Brosnan’s role is that of a mysterious and ultimately heroic government operative, while Wilson plays an “every man” at the center of the horror.

Crime Scene Pictures, also in pre-production on David Gordon Green’s SUSPIRIA remake, is producing the film, which begins shooting this October. John Dowdle and his brother Drew wrote the scrip and will produce as well.
