"Prison Break" actor Robert Knepper joins R.I.P.D.

09.20.2011by: Eric Walkuski

As I'm sure you're well aware, the star-driven horror-comedy R.I.P.D. is currently shooting in Boston under the direction of Robert Schwentke. Starring Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Mary-Louise Parker and Kevin Bacon, the film doesn't appear to be finished adding actors just yet.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Robert Knepper (pictured) has come aboard the Universal flick and will apparently play one of the film's spirits, known as a “deado” in the movie’s lingo... Knepper is most likely best known as the villainous T-Bag from "Prison Break", but has also appeared in plenty of features, including HITMAN, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and TRANSPORTER 3.

Also starring Stephanie Szostak, Marisa Miller, Mike O'Malley and James Hong, R.I.P.D. is scheduled for a JUNE 28, 2013 release.

The synopsis: Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department -- the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement "patrolling the deadbeat...reporting to one boss." Yep -- THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he's traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back -- literally!

Marisa Miller

Extra Tidbit: Knepper also had extended runs on "Carnivale" and "Heroes".
