Quentin Tarantino pondering a horror movie, won’t make Kill Bill 3

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

This is sort of a stretch in terms of actual news, but the possibilities here are so enticing that it’s tough not to spread the word. Quentin Tarantino, still cinema’s biggest movie nerd, is contemplating making a horror movie soon. Let your mind wander for a bit on that.

In an interview with Independent.ie, Tarantino ponders what genre might be next for him. Here’s his quote:

“If there was something I would like to work on again, it would be Honshu’s movies, maybe. Or a horror movie, perhaps.”

Again, this is flimsy stuff to hang our hopes on, but QT’s appreciation of horror is well known (he did write FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, after all); plus, he’s never been afraid to spray the red stuff, and has utilized the talents of Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger many a time. I personally would be in heaven if he ramped up production on a down-and-dirty genre flick.

However, if he does go the horror route, it won’t be in the near future. Last month, Quentin revealed that he’s making another western next.

As an aside, those of you hoping to see KILL BILL 3 are going to be disappointed by the news that Tarantino is not returning to that well.

There are no genres I absolutely want to do any more, like ticking boxes: ‘This, done’. I don’t think about Kill Bill 3 that much, as… we already visited them.”

So there you have it.
