Three months after the first red band trailer was released for director Brian Henson's R-rated puppet murder mystery THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS, another red band trailer has dropped online. This one is packed with Twitter reactions to footage from the film and it has arrived just in time, because THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is scheduled to be released in just a few days, on August 17th.

Starring Melissa McCarthy, who also did some work on the script by Todd Berger, Dee Austin Robertson, Eric Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber, THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS has been described as a blend of MEET THE FEEBLES and WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? The synopsis:

No Sesame. All Street. THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is a filthy comedy set in the underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human (McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show.

Also in the cast are Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale, and Elizabeth Banks.

THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS looks like a really good time to me, and I'm glad Henson was finally able to get it made, a decade after it was first announced. Get a glimpse of some of the raunchy scenarios the film will be assaulting your senses with by watching the new trailer below:
