Read Ari Aster’s Hereditary screenplay here

I think it's safe to say that one of the most horrific and devastating horror movies of the past few years has been first-time writer-director Ari Aster's HEREDITARY starring Toni Collette. The film blew me away when I saw it in theaters this past summer, and I quickly snagged a copy on Blu-ray when it finally hit back in September. And if you're a fan of the neo-classic fright flick like this guy, then you may be interested in reading the film's screenplay, which I just stumbled upon over on Script Slug.

I haven't had the chance to read the script for myself just yet as I literally only came upon it a half hour ago or so. But that said, it's legit and I know I will be putting aside my copy of Stephen King's DOCTOR SLEEP tonight and diving into this screenplay asap. How about you? Let us know below!

The horror film from the producers of THE WITCH and SPLIT also stars Alex Wolff, newcomer Milly Shapiro, Ann Dowd, and Gabriel Byrne. It begins:

When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter's family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.

HEREDITARY is now available on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD from Lionsgate. Snag a copy for yourself over on Amazon RIGHT HERE.
